Chemical exfoliators use AHAs (glycolic, lactic), BHAs (salicylic acid), and PHAs to dissolve the bonds between dead skin cells without physical abrasion. They are more effective and less irritating than physical scrubs when used correctly. BHAs are oil-soluble and penetrate into pores — ideal for acne-prone skin. AHAs exfoliate the surface — ideal for dullness and uneven tone.
