Are BeautyBreeze products genuine and authentic?
Yes — 100%. Every product we sell is sourced directly from authorised Korean skincare distributors. We do not purchase from third-party resellers or grey-market sources. If you ever receive a product that is not as described, contact us and we will replace or refund it immediately.
How long does delivery take in Ireland?
Most Irish orders are delivered within 3–5 business days. All orders are fully tracked from dispatch to delivery.
What Korean skincare brands does BeautyBreeze stock?
Our core brands are COSRX, Beauty of Joseon, and Anua. We also stock Dr. Althea, Biodance, AXIS-Y, Benton, Klairs, Medicube, VT Cosmetics, Laneige, and more. We add new brands regularly based on ingredient quality and community reputation.
Is Korean skincare available in Ireland without customs?
Yes — when you buy from BeautyBreeze. Because we ship from Ireland, there are no customs delays, no import VAT surprises, and no additional fees at delivery. This is one of the main reasons customers choose us over importing directly from Korea or buying from Asian marketplaces.
Korean Skincare Basics
What is a Korean skincare routine?
A Korean skincare routine is a layered approach to skincare that prioritises hydration, barrier health, and prevention over correction. The classic structure is: oil cleanser → water-based cleanser → toner → essence or serum → moisturiser → SPF (morning). The number of steps is flexible — a simple 4-step routine using a cleanser, toner, moisturiser, and SPF covers the essentials.
What is double cleansing?
Double cleansing is a two-step cleansing method where you use an oil-based cleanser first (to dissolve SPF, makeup, and sebum) followed by a water-based cleanser (to remove any remaining residue and cleanse the skin itself). It leaves the skin genuinely clean without stripping, and is the foundation of most Korean skincare routines.
What is snail mucin and what does it do for skin?
Snail mucin (snail secretion filtrate) is a multi-functional skincare ingredient that hydrates, repairs the skin barrier, smooths texture, and reduces the appearance of blemish marks. It is rich in hyaluronic acid, glycoproteins, and zinc — all of which work together to support skin healing and hydration. COSRX products like the Snail 96 Mucin Essence and Snail 92 Cream are among the most widely used snail mucin products in the world.
What does niacinamide do for skin?
Niacinamide (vitamin B3) is one of the most versatile skincare ingredients available. At 10% concentration (as found in the Anua Niacinamide 10% + TXA 4% Serum), it fades dark spots and post-blemish marks, reduces pore appearance, controls oil production, and supports the skin barrier. It is well-tolerated by most skin types, including sensitive skin.
Why is Korean sunscreen considered better than Western sunscreen?
Korean sunscreens are formulated under different regulatory frameworks that allow access to newer UV filters not yet approved in the EU or US. This results in sunscreens that often feel lighter, sit better under makeup, and leave no white cast — while still delivering SPF50+ PA++++ protection. The Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun is a popular example: lightweight, non-greasy, and comfortable enough to wear daily.
What does PA++++ mean on sunscreen?
PA (Protection Grade of UVA) is a Japanese and Korean rating system for UVA protection. PA++++ is the highest rating, indicating the highest level of UVA protection. This is equivalent to a high UVA protection rating under EU standards. Most Korean SPF50+ sunscreens carry PA+++ or PA++++ ratings.
What is glass skin?
Glass skin is a Korean beauty term for skin that appears smooth, poreless, and luminously clear — like a pane of glass. It is achieved through consistent use of hydrating toners, lightweight essences, and moisturisers that build a layered moisture barrier rather than using heavy products. Key products for glass skin include hydrating toners, snail mucin essences, and gel moisturisers.
What is the skin barrier and how do I repair it?
The skin barrier (stratum corneum) is the outermost layer of skin that keeps moisture in and irritants out. When it is compromised — through over-exfoliation, harsh cleansers, or environmental stress — skin becomes dry, tight, reactive, and prone to breakouts. Korean skincare approaches barrier repair with gentle cleansers, ceramide-rich moisturisers, and calming ingredients like centella asiatica and heartleaf. Products from Dr. Althea, Anua, and COSRX's ceramide range are particularly effective for barrier repair.
Product Questions
What is the difference between COSRX Snail 96 Essence and Snail 92 Cream?
The Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence is a lightweight, watery essence containing 96% snail secretion filtrate. It is layered early in the routine (after toner) for hydration and barrier repair. The Snail 92 All-In-One Cream contains 92% snail secretion filtrate in a richer cream texture, used as the final moisturising step. Many people use both: the essence for active repair, the cream to seal in moisture.
Is the Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun suitable for all skin types?
Yes. The Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun SPF50+ PA++++ is suitable for all skin types including oily, dry, and sensitive. It contains 30% rice bran water and lactobacillus ferment for hydration, leaves no white cast, and sits well under makeup. It is one of our most consistently reordered products.
How do I use the Anua Niacinamide 10% + TXA 4% Serum?
Apply 2–3 drops to clean, toned skin before moisturiser, morning and evening. The serum targets dark spots, uneven tone, and post-blemish marks. Start with once-daily use if you have sensitive skin, then increase to twice daily. Apply SPF every morning when using niacinamide to protect results.
Can I use snail mucin with retinol?
Yes. Snail mucin and retinol are a well-established pairing in Korean skincare. Apply snail mucin (essence or cream) after your retinol treatment to support barrier recovery and reduce the dryness and flaking commonly associated with retinol use. This is sometimes called the "sandwich method."
